The Matrix Reloaded

The reason I chose this trailer over the other two Matrix film trailers was because this one was alot more action packed than the other two.

This is because it had alot of hype to live up to from the success of the first film (which the trailer for was very enigmatic as its aim was to hook the audience) and so the majority of the trailer was made up of scenes from the famous highway chase sequence along with various clips of Neo fighting the Agents.

The third movie trailer was alot more story focused as it was the conclusion to the trilogy and the only major action sequence was a few very brief clips from the big fight at the end between Neo and Agent Smith.

The Dark Knight Trailer Analysis

The trailer starts with clips of The Batman. The clips are calm with a steady heart beat playing. The Joker narrates the trailer describing The Batman and what he's done. The heart beat begins to speed up then suddenly stops at a scene of The Joker standing still and saying that The Batman should be more "Like me..." Suddenly there is an explosion behind him. After this part of the trailer it show's the clips it showed earlier that were calm suddenly break into chaos.

This gives the audience a sense of the film and the characters (Batman = Order, Joker = Chaos)

Also in this trailer, as the heart beat speed's up so does the pace of the cuts and edit's until finally the beat stops at the scene with The Joker. This creates as sense of urgency and desperation and as we associate the heart beat's sudden halt with death the audience will associate The Joker with death.
